Perspectives is an interactive art installation that explores the concept of resonance from the lenses of physics, psychology, art, and music. For this piece I curated eight different conversations that I had had with sixteen different professionals, students, and professors in the disciplines of physics, psychology, art, and music and then assigned each conversation to 8 different speakers placed in a circle around the room. Visually I worked with Sara Louviere to create four different animations of a swing that each represented the way a physicist, psychologist, artist, or musician might view that swing. We then tested out using different colored lighting gels to create filters that would isolate one of these four images by filtering out the other colors in that image. We hung these filters in picture frames around the space and as people wandered around and interacted with the environment they could look through these “windows” to gain different perspectives.
